Welcome to EcoTheme

Welcome to EcoTheme.  I’m running this blog as an introductory taste into eco-matters.  It follows me on basis of things I learn, or through current events or debates.  My name is Abi and I’m from the county of Dorset in the South West of England.  I suppose I was interested in the state of the planet when I was a teenager, but my interest took off at University where I was studying Ethics.  Environmental Ethics and Animal rights gradually became my major driving force.  Since I’ve left University I have become an activist and local group member for Friends of the Earth, Compassion in World Farming, and Greenpeace, and I keep my paw in as much as possible (as shall hopefully be evident) by continuing to learn.  I’m returning to University in the not too distant future to study Ethics at King’s CL with the aim of becoming more qualified to work for NGO’s and charities towards environmental aims.

About EcoTheme

Welcome to EcoTheme. I’m from the the county of Dorset in the South West of England. Having studied environmental ethics and written a Masters dissertation on the ethics of sustainable living I now work with Campaign against Climate Change and Greenpeace. I started EcoTheme to present discussion and views on things going on in the environmental world. It should become clear through my posts that I believe our environmental problems to be the most pressing matters of the day – not simply because I place value in our natural world but also because it is the platform on which all life depends.

Great to see your childhood enthusiasm develop into such a serious interest. I’m very impressed. x
